Almost one year ago, a 25-year-old woman was seriously hurt by a hit and run driver in El Paso. On the morning of Monday, February 3rd, 2014, the woman was walking her dog and crossing the intersection of Red Sails and Terrell when she was struck by a vehicle. As the woman was struck and thrown to the ground, her foot was run over by the vehicle and she received other serious injuries. Some members of the Professional Bondsmen of El Paso County group fear that the proposed creation of a county pretrial office will put surety bond companies out of business. Commissioner Vince Perez's stated that his initiative is to consolidate pretrial functions into one department. On December 14th 2014, a woman stole more than $400 in toys from a Wal-Mart Store located at 1850 N. Zaragoza in El Paso, Texas. The woman grabbed a variety of toys and loaded them into two shopping carts. She pushed one of the shopping carts past the registers and soon returned to get the other shopping cart.
